You may be curious who sells diabetic their diabetic test strips. You are not alone. Daily, we get the question “Who Sells Their Diabetic Test Strips?”
At Test Strip Search, we have been buying extra diabetic test strips for over 14 years. We’ve met thousands of our customers-both over the phone and in person. So, we’ve gotten to know a little bit about the people who sell their extra diabetic strips.
Most of our customers find themselves with extra diabetic test strips because they have a good grip on their diabetes. They may need to test their blood only once a day or once every couple of days. Since they are testing their blood less frequently, they end up with extra diabetic test strips. They do not want these strips to go to waste! They realize that by selling their test strips to Test Strip Search, the test strips will be redistributed to folks who cannot easily afford diabetic strips.
Some of our customers find themselves with extra diabetic strips because their doctor has changed the meter they use. They may have used One Touch Ultra strips in the past and now their doctor prescribes a FreeStyle Lite meter and FreeStyle Lite test strips. They no longer need the One Touch Ultra strips. So they are able to sell the One Touch Ultra strips to Test Strip Search. Test Strip Search, of course, quickly resells these One Touch Ultra test strips (at a fraction of the retail price) to other diabetics who use the One Touch Ultra meter. Doctors and pharmacies change the meters and test strips of their patients based on incentives from insurance and medical companies.
Some of our customers sell extra diabetic strips because they are no longer diabetic or they no longer have to test their blood sugar.
Sometimes they have made major lifestyle changes that have resulted in stable blood sugars. We often meet customers who have lost hundreds of pounds and are no longer considered a high risk diabetic. They have test strips left over from when they had to continuously check their blood sugar. Again, Test Strip Search is happy to purchase these extra diabetic strips and get them into the hands of folks who can use. them.
Sometimes our customers had gestational diabetes with their pregnancy and their doctor prescribed diabetic test strips and encouraged them to test their blood while they were pregnant. Once the baby is born, the gestational diabetes is over and this patient no longer has to test their blood sugar. These customers come to us, baby in tow, to get extra money for the test strips they no longer need.
Once in a while a family member of a diabetic who has passed away sells or donates the diabetic supplies that were left over after the diabetic died. This is a generous way to make sure no diabetic supplies get wasted. We get customers whose family member has gone into the hospital or into assisted living and their diabetes is handled at the facility. The extra test strips around the house would simply expire if they didn’t contact Test Strip Search to get them out to other diabetics.
Our customers come from all walks of life. They are all interested, however, in making sure no diabetic supplies are ever wasted. They use Test Strip Search to get some extra money for their extra diabetic supplies and they trust us to do the important job of redistributing these supplies to folks across the United States who can make use of them.
